Lettuce Wrap Burger Night!

After my workout tonight, I spent some time cooking up an incredibly healthy meal!  I love a good burger, but wanted to make a lighter option tonight, so I used lettuce for my ‘bun’ instead of indulging in a delicious bun full of unnecessary carbs that I would generally have (womp, womp).

For the burger itself, I used organic ground beef (85/15), and heavily seasoned it with organic garlic powder, onion powder, pink Himalayan salt, and black pepper.  I grilled out in the cold tonight- it just makes a burger so much better!

To make the lettuce wrap, I just used iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomato, and Thousand Island dressing (game changer).  If you have never made a lettuce wrap before, you will learn that the lettuce is very fragile and tends to rip easily, so pull it apart slowly.  I went back for seconds on this one, and decided to add a sprinkle of fried onion strings- I wish I would have thought of that a long time ago!

I served my burger with quinoa tabbouleh salad and a clementine.

Next time I plan on adding caramelized onions and maybe some sautéed mushrooms!
