Last night’s dinner consisted of steak and eggs! I grilled a strip steak with garlic powder and onion powder and served it next to an egg scramble and fresh strawberries.
My Dad has always cooked with Sweet Vermouth (alcohol) when making omelettes and it is one of the best ideas he has ever had. I don’t know where he got it from, but I do know that if you have never used Sweet Vermouth with your omelettes or scrambles, please try it! You won’t be disappointed- it adds a delicious flavor to the eggs.
I added about 1 tbsp. of butter in a frying pan and sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions together. When they were about halfway down cooking, I added a few good splashes of the Sweet Vermouth. Towards the end I added green onion, tomatoes, and two whole eggs. That is my lazy way of doing scrambled eggs (instead of mixing the eggs with milk in a bowl first). Cheese is a must with my eggs too, so I added shredded cheddar to finish.
