Ya’ll, I have been awfully lazy in the kitchen lately and I generally love cooking. Work and life have been crazy busy so kitchen time has been limited. For this reason, I tried to shop for easy, healthy things that I can throw together for dinner.
I’m also usually that person that spends $100+ every week on groceries and yes, a lot of that is fresh produce that also gets thrown away because I let it go bad. Spending that much every week on groceries for one to two people is NO GOOD. Talk about wasting money…Therefore, I decided to make an intentional effort of spending less this week, and I think I succeeded. I only spent $73.89. Yes, that’s still a little high for one person, however, included in today’s grocery haul total was two unsweetened Starbucks iced coffee blends, two individual sparkling bottles of water, two cases of La Croix, and one 6-pack of Mendota Springs sparkling water.
In addition to all of the beverages, I got a couple chopped salad kits, sandwich stuff, avocados, Tessemae’s habanero ranch dressing, one bag of frozen hash brown potatoes, chicken breast, and four bags of frozen fruit for smoothies.
I also have a ton of food in the freezer that needs to get eaten up.
Anyone else awful when it comes to wasting food? It’s something I’m constantly working on!
