Thank you so much for stopping by and welcome! Loree Unleashed is my health and lifestyle blog, which I have started as I begin my own journey back to happy and healthy.
I am a Midwest 20-something year old, with an amazing boyfriend, Tommy, and I have the most amazing family and good close friends. I am an Event Specialist for an event center and catering company, and I also have my own clothing store, AmLoree Boutique! I am a coffee snob (actually creamer snob), list maker, and lover of traveling. Unlike most 20 somethings, I enjoy being home on the weekends instead of out at bars and I’m normally in bed by 10pm, and I am perfectly content with that.
My goal here is to hold myself accountable, share my journey, and inspire just one other person who is also looking to find their health and happiness! You can expect lots of meal ideas and inspiration, which is also my favorite thing about following others- getting new dinner ideas and supporting their successes and struggles on their own journeys.
*Please note that I am not a certified nutritionist or trainer. You should always consult your doctor prior to changing up your diet or exercise routine.
Random Facts About Me:
1. I Have My Own Online Women’s Clothing Boutique!
I always thought it would be cool to be an entrepreneur. In high school and college, my business projects were always a plan for opening a women’s clothing store called Loree. As great as that would have been to actually do, I always thought no way- too difficult, too expensive, just not possible, etc. I finally let those negative thoughts go and opened AmLoree Boutique. The feeling of accomplishment and risk is so exciting! If you want to do something but are hesitant, just DO IT! You will never regret giving it a try, but you might regret not trying.
2. I’m Not a Baker.
I love being in the kitchen but baking just isn’t my thing. It’s just too messy and there are too many things that can go wrong (when I’m the baker anyways). My kind of baking is the kind where you throw already prepared cookie dough pucks on a cookie sheet. I must say I do force myself to make pumpkin bars every Fall, because they are delicious and no one else will do it for me!
3. Cake, No Thanks.
I’m not a fan of cake or cupcakes, or most sweets in general. I would much rather have pizza, fries, and wings! Don’t get me wrong, I love a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie, and I do have my cravings, but I’m not your typical person who craves chocolate often. I think the frosting on a cake or cupcake is what ruins it for me…although I do LOVE a good chocolate buttercream frosting with yellow cake.
4. My Brother & I Share the Same Birthday.
Yep, that’s right! We were born on the same day, but three years apart- not planned that way! I was also born on Easter, but have never had another birthday fall on the Holiday.
5. I Don’t Make My Bed.
Does anyone else refuse to make their bed? Sure, it looks nice, but when it’s made, it is now an obstacle you have to go through to crawl into bed- tight sheets, flat comforter, no thanks! Bedtime is the best time, and there is nothing more exciting than falling into fluffy covers and pillows without having to do any work after a long day! Yes, even when I wash the bedding, I make the bed and then kick everything around so it is comfy and ready for me!
6. Blonde & Brunette.
My natural hair color is a dirty dishwater blonde which I don’t like. I started going blonde back when I was in 7th grade (I think), and was a blonde until I was 24 years old. I then went brunette and loved it! I had always wanted to try it but it took me a long time to do. I have saved A LOT of money by having brown hair! I just recently dyed it black and this has by far been my favorite color- I love how dark it is. It’s fun to change things up sometimes!
7. I Love Grilling.
Grilled food is the best food. We deal with cold Winters here in Minnesota, but I still stand outside and grill. It makes eating healthy so much easier- you just can’t go wrong with grilled meat and veggies. Kabobs are a personal favorite!
